Get Started with Kawandi Inspired Quilting on Zoom 11/15 - 10am -1pm

$40.00

Join Jen on Zoom and make a Kawandi Inspired mini quilt.
November 15, 10am - 1pm Eastern Time.

Over 3 hours we will get started making a small Kawandi inspired quilt. Students might be able to finish a small piece, depending on how quickly individual decisions are made, and how quickly you stitch.

Class project is a very small piece. This is because getting started takes a long time. Ideally we will at least get into some aspects of design within the 3 hours.

Class will be recorded, and recordings will be available to students for 30 days after class.

Supplies

  • 10” square batting (Quilter’s Dream Request)

  • Fat quarter backing fabric (Peppered Cotton)

  • 6 fat eighths yarn dyed fabric (Assortment of yarn-dyed fabrics)

  • Milliner’s Size 3 needle (Sue Spargo)

  • 12 weight thread (Fruitti by Wonderfil)

  • Thimble (Clover leather thimble)

  • Needle gripper (Clover rubber thimble)

The supplies noted are my favorites. You are an adult and you can use whatever you prefer. You can find links to my favorite supplies here.

Class is suitable for beginner to more advanced sewists. If you want to deviate on sizes, materials, etc go for it. I am very tolerant of exploration in class, with the following caveat.

There are loads of folks demonstrating Kawandi techniques online. There are lots of different ways to do things. I have reasons for doing it my way, and I assume if you are taking this class you want to know about my techniques. I’m not excited to hear about other folk’s different techniques while I’m teaching. Obviously, you can do whatever you want, but please don’t distract everyone else by introducing stuff other than what I do. That’s for social time, not class time.
