Autumn is my favorite time of year. Nothing beats a walk on a crisp fall morning, listening to the leaves crunch under my feet. Pulling out my sweaters and thick wool socks is such a relief after the sweltering summer.
This project uses two symbols of the season - pumpkins for the blocks and I use felted wool for the stems. The basic piecing incorporates quilting cottons and fabric manipulation to make a fun three-dimensional pumpkin collection. The stems are created using felted wool for an interesting texture. I like using recycled wool sweaters - the ribbed sleeves give great texture to play with.
This quilt is intended for machine sewing and quilting.
