Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays, but one I rarely plan for in advance. I’ve come up with a fresh new spin on a heart block. I use fabric manipulation to get curved lines and a 3-d effect without the challenge of piecing curved seams.

There are two size versions of this quilt. I used to sell them separately, but I’m including both for you here. I originally designed the quilt to use 10” square sets (I LOOOVE precuts). But, when I got it into a magazine, I was encouraged to use yardage. So, two different versions exist. Enjoy!

Materials needed - Yardage Version

6 - ½ yard cuts of fabric. Get a mix of lights and darks

½ yard for inner border

1 yard for outer border

½ yard binding

4 yards backing

60” x 70 “ Batting

Quilt finishes at 52" x 60"

Materials needed - 10” square version

1 - 10” precut bundle - minimum 40 pieces

2 yards of outer border

½ yard inner border

4 yards backing and binding

Twin Size Batting

Quilt finishes at 48” x 58”
