Welcome to the MY NYC Blog Hop, celebrating the release of My NYC fabric from Gotham Quilts! I'm so pleased that I am part of the team at Gotham Quilts. It feels good to work with a woman-owned shop in New York City, especially when it is also my favorite quilt shop.

Each of us started with a bundle of 11 fat quarters of My NYC fabric. I added a solid charcoal color to mine - look at how great it all looks!
I decided to make a new version of my Rotation pattern. I really do love how well this pattern works to show off large scale prints. The big flying geese allow the fabric to sing.
One of the things I really love about my pattern is how it handles directional prints. The 4-at-a-time flying geese technique means that you get a flying goose heading in each direction from the original print. If you are a little uptight like I am, you can keep all of your directional prints going the right way.
It's okay to let your patterns go any which way, too, but I try to keep stuff right side up when I can.
Here is my finished quilt top. It's on the longarm right now (I'll be updating the post as soon as the quilt is complete.)
We chose a solid grey for the background. Look at how these prints pop!
